From loved ones, to homes, to jobs and businesses, 2020 saw a lot of losses and hardships in our lives. A global pandemic forced countries around the world into lockdowns, and for once, we had to be apart in order to brave through it together.

Many years back, we had high expectations for the year 2020 – big plans, big hopes, and even bigger dreams. But ultimately, the year will now be etched in a completely different light in our memories. Be that as it may, although it has seen people go through all sorts of difficult life-changing situations, remarkably the dark times brought out the good in people. The beautiful irony about it all is that despite the quarantine and social distancing, and despite everyone’s personal struggles, many people came together in unity to help out and ease the burden of the less fortunate. Even on the toughest days in what felt like the longest year, humanity gave us one thing to hold on to: Hope.

Now that we have already closed that chapter and turned the page, it is time to focus on a new beginning and pray for better days. We need to forge on and keep pushing through, continuing to provide a strong support system to those around us who need it. If 2020 was the year that pulled us down, 2021 will be the year that we rise again.
